anatome Platform — Terms of Service (v0.1, draft)

Who this is for: API customers. Personal / ChatGPT users: https://anatome.dev/terms. Status (this API-customer document): Draft, pending review by a qualified attorney. Source Markdown: /terms?format=md.

1. The Service

anatome ("the Service") is a developer API platform providing exercise, anatomy, food, recipe, workout, cardio, nutrition, supplement, goal, and body-metric data, plus AI-powered parsing and analysis. It is operated by NextSolutions ("we", "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

2. Best-effort service; no SLA guarantee

The Service is provided on a best-effort basis with a target uptime of 99.5%. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we are not liable for downtime, data loss, or any damages arising from service interruption. A public status page is available at https://anatome.dev/status. Enterprise customers may negotiate a separate SLA — contact support@anatome.dev.

3. Acceptable use; rate limits; quotas

You must not: (a) exceed your plan's rate limits or quotas; (b) use the Service to build a competing human-body API aggregator without written permission; (c) attempt to access another app's data; (d) scrape or reverse-engineer the Service beyond the documented API; (e) use AI endpoints to resell raw model output. We may throttle (HTTP 429) or suspend keys that violate these terms. Free-tier usage requires attribution as specified in your plan.

4. Your data; multi-tenancy

You retain all rights to data you submit via per-user endpoints. We isolate your data per app_id + app_user_id using Postgres Row-Level Security. We do not read or use your users' data for any purpose other than operating, securing, and aggregating (anonymized) the Service.

5. Data retention; deletion (GDPR Article 17)

To request expedited deletion, email support@anatome.dev with your app_id + app_user_id.

6. AI endpoints; model availability

AI endpoints route through OpenRouter and may use any of several models. We meter AI usage separately (ai scope) and bill at cost × (1 + margin) where margin is currently 40%. Model availability is not guaranteed — a model may be withdrawn if the upstream provider deprecates it. We will substitute an equivalent model and update the default. Photo-macros (ai/photo-macros) has a separate, smaller quota because vision models cost substantially more than text models.

7. Open-source; self-hosting

The Service's code is proprietary and is not licensed for redistribution or self-hosting. (A separate product, the exercise/anatomy wiki at wiki.anatome.dev, IS Apache-2.0 and self-hostable — it is not this Service. anatome.dev, the client-facing app, is also proprietary.) Derived food data carries ODbL 1.0 (share-alike on the derived database only, not on the service code). USDA + free-exercise-db data is CC0 1.0. Anatomy SVG paths are MIT (react-native-body-highlighter). See NOTICE for the full attribution list. If you self-host, you are responsible for your own compliance with these data licenses.

8. Pricing; billing

Plans + pricing are listed at https://anatome.dev/#pricing. Free tier requires attribution. Paid plans are billed monthly in advance. We may change pricing with 30 days' notice; existing subscriptions continue at the current rate until renewal. Usage-based AI charges are billed in arrears against your plan's included quota, then at the overage rate if applicable.

9. RapidAPI

If you subscribe via RapidAPI, RapidAPI handles billing + the subscription lifecycle. Your RapidAPI subscriber id (X-RapidAPI-User) is logged for attribution + quota. RapidAPI's terms apply to the billing relationship; these Terms apply to the API usage.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (or USD $50, whichever is greater). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms with 30 days' notice. Continued use after the change constitutes acceptance. Material changes (pricing, data retention) get 60 days' notice.
